Garage Door Opener Repair: Are Your Photo Eyes Misaligned?
Does your garage door opener need repaired? Before you call a professional, check on the alignment of your photo eyes, two transmitters on either side of the bottom of the door. These transmit a signal. If anything gets in the way to block the signal, the door won’t work. Make sure the path is free and that both eyes are opposite each other. It may be necessary to clean the eyes with soap and water. Sometimes, sunlight can even interfere. Applying some cardboard shades to the top can be an easy DIY repair.
